Upload your own images
You may upload any JPEG image from your own computer - a scanned photograph or drawing, a photograph taken with a digital camera or any original illustration created with your computer software. Please make sure that any image you wish to use is saved as a JPEG and has the .jpg filename extension. The image should also be saved in RGB format NOT CMYK. If in doubt on how to do this, please refer to the documentation that came with your software or Contact Us for any further guidance and advice.

If you wish to use the same image to design multiple products, you may create your own Photo Album where you can store your favourite images. You will need to create an account with us before creating your photo album. Click the My Account option from the main navigation menu to create an account.

What resolution do I need to make my image?
The number of coloured dots that make up the image will determine the quality of your printed design. The more there are in the image, the finer the detail of the image.

Your image should be at least 150 (ideally 300) dpi (dots per inch) at the size that you want to print it. Lower resolutions will result in the image looking 'grainy' or 'pixelated'. However images with a resolution of greater than 300 dpi will not be appreciably better and will create larger file sizes which will result in your images taking longer to upload to the web site.

Remember that if you wish to enlarge your image, the pixels within the image will also be enlarged, so it might become more 'grainy' than you would like. The maximum image size that we print on each of our products can be found by clicking the 'Eye' symbol next to each product on our Products page.

When you upload an image to our site, a smaller sized version is automatically created to help speed up the design process. This means that as you increase the size of your image whilst designing some graininess may appear. However, the original file you upload will be used for the final production process.

Some notes about image colour
Be aware that an image that you see on your computer screen cannot be guaranteed to precisely represent what it will look like when it is printed. There are two main reasons for this:
  1. The various colours contained in an image are produced on your computer screen by a combination of Red, Green and Blue light projected onto the screen whilst colour printed onto a physical surface such as paper, fabric or china is achieved by mixing Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black ink. There is always a limitation to the accuracy with which colours may be achieved between the two different methods of displaying colour.

  2. Individual computer screens can vary greatly in how they display colour which means that colour displayed on one screen cannot be guaranteed to be the same as that displayed on another.

Please also note that the colour of images we re-produce on any of our products cannot be guaranteed to match the colour you may have achieved by printing the same image using another printer.

Image Quality
We are mindful of the inherent differences between how colour is represented on a computer screen and on a printed item and the differences that can occur between different printers and we do quality check every personal image submitted to us and will make every effort to contact you first if we feel it needs improvement prior to us printing them. Ultimately, however, you are responsible for the quality of your images and we do not take responsibility for any inferior quality images that you send to us that when printed result in a poor quality finished product.

What about using an image from the internet?
Be aware that most images on the internet (certainly celebrity ones) are protected by copyright laws.We will not fulfil any order that might infringe these laws; any payment made for an order that either infringes copyright or is indecent will be refunded and we reserve the right to retain a handling fee of £10 if we are asked to produce an image that either infringes copyright or is indecent. You will be asked to accept these terms & conditions before uploading any image to our site.
